Robonaut 2, a step in the space
Extreme environmental conditions, probably one of the most immediate ways of thinking about a robot use. -455 degrees Fahrenheit, solar radiations, possible collision with asteroids … just to name a few.
Presented by NASA at Kennedy Space Center KSC, Robonaut 2 is the first humanoid robot “exploring” the space. Sent to the International Space Station on board of the Discoveryas as part of the STS-133 mission, the robot torso person sized, with arms, hands and fingers, will eventually assist the astronauts in specific tasks. Robonaut 2 is the result of a joint venture between NASA’s Johnson Space Center and General Motors.
